The Lake County Stormwater Management Commission (SMC) has received a planning grant from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency to update the 2017 Lake County All-Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan which expires November 8, 2022. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requires that the plan be updated every 5 years.

This Request for Proposals (RFP) is for consultant services to assist SMC in updating the plan.  The updated plan must be compliant with the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 (DMA 2000) and any new FEMA compliance requirements since the first plan was adopted in 2006. Only those consultants with all-natural hazard mitigation planning experience will be considered as qualified.  SMC expects to negotiate a contract for this plan update work on September 3, 2021.
