Contract No. 16220 - Bid General Contracting for Lake County Multi-Departmental Storage Facility

The Lake County Libertyville Campus consists of 154 acres of land located at the northwest corner of Milwaukee Avenue and Winchester Road in Libertyville. This campus is home to the Lake County Departments of: Transportation, Public Works, Sheriff, Emergency Management, Stormwater Management, Environmental Health Services, and Planning, Building and Development.

With the recent movement of several of these departments to the new Central Permit Facility, the expanded responsibilities of the Facility Operations Department, and the planned decrease in the available evidence storage and processing areas at the Waukegan facility, there is a need for additional storage and processing space at Lake County’s Libertyville Campus.

This solicitation seeks to identify a contractor to construct a new one story 20,000 square foot Multi-Departmental Storage Facility which will capitalize on the proximity of these multiple departments by providing a communal storage solution on the Lake County Libertyville Campus. The plan proposes the facility be used by the Sheriff’s Office, Clerk of the Circuit Court, Environmental Health Services, Emergency Management, and Facility Operations.
